Nearshoring is the most significant economic shift since globalization started in earnest during the last century. Nearshoring (or Friendshoring) is when companies and countries restructure supply chains away from traditional trade partners like China for the United States to close neighbors like Mexico.

 

The heightened geopolitical tensions between China and the West have led to major investments in Latin America and Eastern Europe. These investments in manufacturing, supply chain independence, semiconductors, and other key areas are projected to increase significantly over the rest of this decade.
